Argentina will host the 3rd Regional Technical Meeting on Interprofessional Education in Health

Within the framework of the strategic lines established in the Strategy on Human Resources for Universal Access to Health and Universal Health Coverage, the Unit of Human Resources for Health of the Department of Health Systems and Services (HSS/HR) – PAHO / WHO, in collaboration with the Secretariat of Government of Health of the Argentinian Republic, is organizing the Third Technical Meeting on Interprofessional Professional Education (IPE): Improve the capacity of human resources to achieve universal health, which will take place in Buenos Aires, Argentina, from 6 to 7 December 2018.

 For this event, which has the support of the Regional Network for Interprofessional Education in the Americas (REIP) that was established in the year of 2017, the participants are representatives of the 18 countries that attended the Second Technical Meeting held in the city of Brasilia, Brazil, in December 2017 and presented plans of action for the implementation of Interprofessional Education for the years 2018-2019 to PAHO / WHO , according to the commitment concurred in the event.

The objectives of the meeting are to evaluate the development of country activities for IPE plans (2018-2019) and to explore the influence of IPE to achieve universal health in the following areas: IPE as a strategy to improve collaborative practices in health; IPE in undergraduate and postgraduate courses in health; initiatives for the IPE faculty development.
