12th Brazilian Congress of Collective Health - Abrascão 2018

The theme of the IPE was present in the activities of the 12th Brazilian Congress of Collective Health - Abrascão 2018, an event held in Rio de Janeiro from July 26 to 29, 2018.

On the 25th, in the activities that preceded Abrascão, the 2nd International Symposium on Education for Work and Health took place. The event had a session entitled "Health Education: Dialogues and Connections between Permanent Education and Interprofessional Education". Under the coordination of the director of the Department of Health Education Management (Deges / Ministry of Health), Cláudia Brandão, the meeting brought together José Rodrigues, PAHO / WHO international consultant on IPE, Mario Rovere, physician and consultant of PAHO / WHO, and Ana Luiza de Oliveira, a professor at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN).

José Rodrigues talked about how IPE is being incorporated into health education policies, how this approach was discussed within PAHO / WHO, and what strategies the Organization has developed to support the countries of the Region of the Americas in this approach.

The same theme was presented by José Rodrigues and Sílvia Cassiani, PAHO / WHO Regional Technical Adviser on Nursing and Health Technicians, on a session of oral communication during Abrascão, on July 27, entitled "Interprofessional Health Education in the Region of Americas ".

And on the last day of Abrascão, the activity "Interprofessional Health Education (IPE): professional training and integral care". The session was coordinated by Maria Isabel Barros Bellini of the School of Public Health of Rio Grande do Sul and was attended by professors Marcelo Viana da Costa of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte - UFRN and Marina Peduzzi of the University of São Paulo - USP.
